I love this Prada display because it shows the art of tailoring that goes into creating a fine Prada suit. I also think it is important because it reminds the customer of the time and quality that goes into making a Prada suit. This window has such a classic elegance, which Prada seems to always have, and I love it because they could re-use this concept in 10 years and it would still have the same affect.

Prada: Fine Tailoring
I love this Prada display because it shows the art of tailoring that goes into creating a fine Prada suit. I also think it is important because it reminds the customer of the time and quality that goes into making a Prada suit. This window has such a classic elegance, which Prada seems to always have, and I love it because they could re-use this concept in 10 years and it would still have the same affect.
Snakes in Roger Vivier
How can you not think of a snake when you look at this?
This is a window display for Roger Vivier in Milan that is display shoes and small leather goods. I was probably first attracted to the sparkling, metallic silver and then approached the window for a closer look. I think this is such an innovative way to create an eye catching display. It can sometimes be hard to do so with a store that does not sell clothing and that is why it is important to use props, like the silver piper, to fill up space and catch customers attention.

Sharp As Tom Ford
Just gotta love Tom Ford. This display is featuring ties and behind the ties there are shine blue scissors. Why scissors? I have no idea, but then again I never have a clue why Tom Ford does what he does but I always love it. I also love the use of electric blue because it is so refreshing against all the fall neautrals most stores are displaying.

24K Bottega Veneta
Being the shoe fanatic that I am, I was instantly drawn to the gold metallic shoes!
I will admit that the window display it self is not that interesting but I had to pay tribute to a beautiful set of shoes. I do however love the wooden blinds in the background and the use of simple clean lines.

Versace Disco
Who wants to go to the disco? or we can just go to Versace.
I love this window display because it is just so Versace. They aren't following the trend of boring fall colors, instead they are spicing it up with in your face bolds. This window display has to be inspired but the night life of a big city. I love Versaces ability to be fierce and always own it.

Ralph Lauren: Pink Pony
What girl doesn't love a pink pony?!
It's hard to tell in the picture but yes the horse is pink. That's probably what attracted me to this window, since my favorite color is pink. When I looked at this window I instantley thought of a unicorn. I think this is such a cool window display because it really represents Ralph Lauren.

Moschino Pumpkin Gallery
Moschino was also inspired by the Halloween season. I thought this window display was very cute and eye catching, it definitley made me look twice. I dont' really understand the concept behind it but I think it's super cute!

Jungle Replay
Replay is a young adult store located by the Duoma that sells men's and women's clothing. I was attracted to this window because of the huge contrast between winter and jungle. It really stood out to me because it is so different from the themes all the other stores are currently displaying. I also found it really cool how deep the jungle leaves go back into the store.

Alcott Nightmares
This window display made me feel like I was back at home!
Alcott is located in one of the main shopping strips at the Duomo and it was one of very few stores that displayed a Halloween theme. Their Halloween decorations were much more tammed then you would find in the U.S. They used cob webs and masks but I was still very excited to see a Halloween theme.
The Chronicles of Chanel
This Chanel window display is located in one of the best shopping streets of Milan. I was attracted to this window because of the icy coldness it gives off. When I looked at this window display I instantly thought of the White Witch from The Chronicles of Narnia. I love the use of the white wigs and fur with the contrast of dark lips and eyes.

H&M Football Casual
This window display is from H&M in Florence, Italy. The window incorporates the theme of football, which I find very interesting because football is not popular in Europe. I think this creates a male influenced, casual appearance. I found a man out on the streets of Milan who was dressed very casual in sweat pants. I think it is very interesting how he still looks fashionable and put together even though he is wearing sweat pants. He probably isn't going to go work out but is still making a fashion statement.

What This Is All About
I have created this blog as an on going project for my Special Topics class in Milan, Italy. The goal is to create a blog document our point of view during our study abroad quarter. I have chosen to concentrate on interesting window displays that I encounter throughout my travels. I will then try to find people dressed in a similar fashion reflecting the concept of the window. I have chosen to create my blog around window displays because I am strongly interested in visual merchandising and would like to brink back the European point of view to America.
